Junior County Hockey
Warwickshire is the largest of the 8 Counties in the Midlands (Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire and Worcestershire being the others).
To that extent it has the most junior hockey and in the main, the most successful Junior County sides of any of the Midlands Counties.
The County supports its junior athletes by providing 5 Development Centres, which run from September-late October, which then also feed into County squads at U13, U14, U15 and U16/17 levels. These County squads run from October-March/April each year.
Other County Activity
County Junior Festivals:
These are organised by one of the County Volunteers to assist those clubs with junior sections in Warwickshire to co-ordinate U8, U10 and U12 activity.
County In2Hockey Tournaments (U10 & U12):
These are run every year in Feb/March, and are single gender competitions which feed through into the Midlands Finals (with the Midlands U12 winners then feeding into the National Finals)
Senior Men’s Squad:
Warwickshire is one of the longest running Counties taking part in the A Division of the Men’s County Championships. The County regularly features in the last 4 of the competition. The selection and training for this squad takes place in April/May.
